Faculty

Dr. Ruey Ryburn is a certified practitioner of Brennan Healing Science. She maintains an active healing practice in Honolulu, where she created and runs the Sacred Path Healing School.
She is a diploma graduate of the four-year certification program and subsequent faculty member of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Dr. Ryburn is board certified as an Advanced Practice Holistic Nurse (AHN-BC) from the American Holistic Nurses’ Certification Corporation. Dr. Ryburn is a Sacred Heart TM Yoga certified teacher.
Dr. Ryburn has a doctorate in public health (DrPH). She is a registered nurse (RN) and a nurse practitioner (NP). She also has masters degrees in nursing (MS) and public health (MPH). Dr. Ryburn retired in 2000 as Professor Emeritus from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Ruey teaches both Hawaii and Illinois classes.

Gretchen Jacobson is a graduate of the four-year professional program of the premier energy healing school, Barbara Brennan School of Healing. Before starting her professional healing practice nine years ago, Gretchen was a college art teacher. She brings her unique gifts of vision and creativity to her healings, which are also enriched through years of training in both Eastern and Western meditative practices. Her comprehensive training helps heal the healer before beginning one's professional practice as well as teaching the healer how to help guide her clients toward self-healing transformations.  Her personal website is http://www.gretchenjacobson.org.  Gretchen teaches Illinois classes only.

Dr. Gayle Kutaka is an energy healer, ordained minister, and licensed advanced practice registered nurse in the field of child/adolescent psychiatric nursing. Her approach in healing is a hybrid of energy and psychotherapy immersed in the loving grace of the Divine. She has over 36 years experience as a psychotherapist, administrator, educator, and researcher. Dr. Kutaka has a doctorate in nursing and has been practicing energy healing for the past 3 years. As a graduate of the Sacred Path Healing School, she is now on faculty there. She is also an adjunct faculty at the University of Hawaii School of Nursing where she teaches graduate students in psychiatric/mental health nursing. As a former CEO, Dr. Kutaka has also used energy healing in corporate management.  Gayle teaches Hawaii classes only.

Kauakea Winston is a 2004 graduate of Sacred Path Healing whose own healing expertise focuses upon emotional clearing, astrology, and nutrition and sound healing. She brings Resonance Repatterning, practical astrology, vegan and alkaline cooking, and 'new games' as areas of strength to her healership. She teaches a fun interactive lifestyle class year one, Astrology year two and sound healing in year three. She is the mother of two and has been a professional photographer with photos published worldwide for over 20 years. Most of the photos on the Sacred Path Healing website have been taken by Kauakea as she has been apart of the school from the start in 2001. Debra Michels, B.A. is an Iyengar certified yoga teacher, graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, and ordained minister with the Sacred Path Healing branch of S.H.E.S. She has taught yoga and assisted with the healing skills and lifestyle class at Sacred Path Healing since 2004. She has a private healing and yoga practice from her home in East Honolulu. Debra is gifted at assisting clients to open the doorways to new possibilities in their lives.  Debra teaches Hawaii classes only.
